Marine safety is so important if you are spending any time on the water.  Make sure that you service all of your gear making sure that it is  in prefect working order.  Routine maintenance and service can prevent most problems on the water.  Maintaining your boat and the devices on a regular basis will reduce the probability of breakdowns occurring. The boat and its systems should be thoroughly checked before launch and at haul out. Safety is so important make sure that you check everything on your boat and your gear that you can.   If any of your safety gear it not working properly you should discard it and replace it.
