The induction-hardened ring gear is engineered for extended service life, and the flywheel is forged, CNC machined, and dynamically computer balanced to support smooth operation at high engine speeds. The reduced inertia can produce mild to moderate gear rattle and reduced street drivability, so this component is recommended primarily for race use.

ACT flywheels are serviceable and can be resurfaced without requiring additional replacement parts. The ACT 600521 is backed by ACT's one-year warranty. Compatible applications include select 2007-2013 Mazda Mazdaspeed3 and Mazda 3 models, along with select 2006-2007 Mazda 6 applications.
