AEM's Wideband Controllers with X-Digital technology can reduce deadtime and improve the performance of your vehicle through more accurate AFR tuning. Deadtime is the delay between when exhaust gas composition changes and when that change is reported by the O2 sensor. While flow of exhaust gases can affect deadtime, it is not the only source. Often, the sensing element’s response to the gas is the largest contributor to deadtime.When tuning an engine using wideband AFR feedback control, deadtime affects the data you are looking at because it is reported in a different operating location than when it occurred. This means whatever changes you make to the base fueling will likely be in the wrong timeframe. This can be particularly dangerous to high cylinder pressure applications, and EFI systems that use feedback control. Its patented X-Digital technology reduces sensor response deadtime, helping the reported exhaust gas data more closely match the actual operating conditions inside the engine. This can support safer, more precise fueling adjustments in high-cylinder-pressure applications and EFI systems that rely on wideband feedback.

The controller includes a Bosch LSU 4.9 wideband oxygen sensor, wiring harnesses, an O2 sensor bung, a black bezel, and a reversible black AFR/Lambda faceplate. Users can configure the display for AFR, Lambda, or oxygen percentage, as well as select a three- or four-digit display format. The gauge also features automatic sensor detection, auto-dimming, and factory calibration that eliminates the need for routine free-air calibration, while still allowing free-air calibration when desired.

Designed for integration with modern performance electronics, the AEM 30-0300 offers 0-5V and RS232 outputs for data logging and feedback control, plus AEMnet CANbus connectivity for data logging and daisy-chaining multiple controllers.
