An exhaust for the hottest of VW’s hatchbacks - unmatched quality, fitment, performance and tone. For those who like it raw, rowdy, and light, the AWE Track Edition is for you. The Track Edition takes all of the precision engineering and performance of its SwitchPath™ counterpart, minus the valve on the passenger’s side and the muffler on the driver’s side. The result is a constant “valve open” mode. This version is known to get (really) rowdy, and may be too much for many. For that reason, this particular version cannot be returned due to sound preference. But fear not – if after running the Track Edition you're feeling it’s a bit too much, AWE makes it easy to swap over to a SwitchPath™ with the Conversion Kit. Just bolt it on and tone it down a bit – easy! Valve Simulators (sold separately): Why do you need them? When it comes to the Track Edition versions of these systems, the valves are eliminated, and the ECU stores what is known as a ‘soft code’ in the system. While this code is not harmful, who wants it? Enter the AWE Electronic Valve Simulators. These simple devices plug right into the factory harness in place of the exhaust valves, and prevent any code from ever being stored in the ECU due to the removal of the exhaust valves. Plug them in. Start it up. Drive away. That simple. Comes as a set of two.When it comes to tips, the Track Edition finishes off with 102mm slash-cut tips, featuring the AWE logo, so they know what team you're on. The AWE Tuning Track Edition Exhaust is designed for the 2015–2017 Volkswagen Golf R and delivers a constant valve-open exhaust configuration. It uses a clean, straight-through design for performance and an aggressive exhaust tone. This version eliminates the passenger-side valve and driver-side muffler found on the SwitchPath™ counterpart, producing a raw and rowdy sound that may be too loud for some preferences.

Handcrafted in-house from U.S.-sourced T304L stainless steel, the system uses CNC mandrel-bent 3-inch and 2.5-inch tubing with .065-inch wall thickness. AWE reports maximum gains of 12 horsepower and 9 lb-ft of torque at the wheels on a turbo-back system with stock software. The exhaust is designed as a direct bolt-on for factory-like installation and includes a Lifetime Warranty.

The system is finished with 102mm double-walled, slash-cut Chrome Silver tips featuring the AWE logo. Each tip is individually adjustable to set its depth into the bumper according to personal preference. Valve simulators are sold separately and plug into the factory harness in place of the removed exhaust valves to prevent a soft code from being stored in the ECU. A SwitchPath™ Conversion Kit is also available separately for customers who later want to reduce the exhaust tone. Fits 2015, 2016, and 2017 Volkswagen Golf R models.
