CL-KIT - Cam and Lifter Kit Includes: Camshaft, Lifters, Assembly Lube, Decals and Instructions. High performance. Biggest cam with stock converter but better with 2000+ stall. Use lower gears. Mild rough idle. Fits Chevrolet GEN 1 Small Blocks including the 262, 265, 267, 283, 302, 305, 307, 327, 350 and 400. Does not fit LT1/LT4, or factory roller Small Blocks built from 1985 and newer. GM gradually added roller camshafts to 305's and 350's from the mid 80's forward. Camaros/Firebirds/Corvettes received the roller cams early, but many trucks and SUV's had flat tappet cams until the mid 90's. Remove the intake or timing cover to confirm whether the block is a factory roller or flat tappet. Does not fit the LS1, LS2, LS3 or any LS-based 4.8, 5.3, 5.7, 6.0 and 6.2. 1955-1957 Chevrolet 265 engines require a groove on the 5th cam journal for oiling. Contact us for more information.

The COMP Cams CS 270H Cam and Lifter Kit is a high-performance camshaft package for Chevrolet GEN 1 small-block engines. The kit includes the camshaft, lifters, assembly lube, decals, and instructions for installation.

This cam is described as the biggest cam suitable for use with a stock converter, although a 2,000-plus rpm stall converter is recommended for improved performance. Lower gearing is also recommended. The cam produces a mildly rough idle and is designed for applications using a flat-tappet small-block configuration.

Fitment includes Chevrolet GEN 1 small blocks such as the 262, 265, 267, 283, 302, 305, 307, 327, 350, and 400. It does not fit LT1, LT4, LS1, LS2, LS3, or LS-based 4.8L, 5.3L, 5.7L, 6.0L, and 6.2L engines. It also does not fit factory roller small blocks built from 1985 and newer. Because Chevrolet gradually introduced roller camshafts during the 1980s and 1990s, verify whether the engine uses a factory roller or flat-tappet camshaft before installation. Chevrolet 265 engines from 1955–1957 require a groove on the fifth cam journal for oiling.
