Plates must be oil soaked using standard drive case oil for a few hours before install to avoid heat scorching. Always replace tired clutch springs and check for wear on driven (non lined) plates. Each plate uses OEM-style cork-based friction material and is manufactured with a stack height measured to help reset the clutch to its original operating condition. Before installation, soak the plates in standard drive case oil for several hours to help prevent heat scorching during initial operation. For best results, inspect the driven, non-lined plates and replace fatigued clutch springs during installation. If the clutch was slipping before replacement, a complete EBC DRC or DRCF clutch kit may be a more suitable repair.
