Exclusive internal bypass technology allows oil to flow around the piston at some points of the stroke – while creating humongous pressure at other points – supporting the vehicle like no other product can. Floating through terrain is accomplished with FOX’s ride zone – combining a race-developed shock piston, internal bypass and Dual Speed Compression adjustment – allowing fine tuning for weight, terrain and speed. Dominate any terrain with the brute strength of 3- and 2.5-inch aluminum bodies, cactus cooler reservoirs and 7/8” shafts with redundant seals, all proven in the harshest of environments under the toughest of conditions.

The FOX Factory Race 2.5 x 12 Coilover Remote Shock is engineered for demanding off-road applications where suspension control, durability, and consistent damping are essential. Designed around FOX’s race-proven internal bypass technology, this shock provides controlled oil flow throughout the stroke to deliver a compliant ride over smaller terrain while increasing support during aggressive compression events.

Its ride zone combines a race-developed piston, internal bypass, and Dual Speed Compression adjustment to help fine-tune suspension behavior for vehicle weight, terrain, and driving speed. The remote reservoir helps manage heat during extended high-speed or technical use, while the aluminum body and 7/8-inch shaft provide the strength needed for harsh off-road environments. The FOX Factory Race shock is also owner serviceable and rebuildable, with custom valving options available for specialized vehicle setups.

FOX equips this model with a proprietary Cerakote protective ceramic coating over a zinc-plated basecoat, black-anodized CNC-machined aluminum components, and a 17-4 H900 hard-chrome-plated stainless steel shaft. JM92 MIL-SPEC oil, developed specifically for off-road racing, supports reliable damping performance under demanding operating conditions.
