Floating through terrain is accomplished with FOX’s ride zone – combining a race-developed shock piston, internal bypass and Dual Speed Compression adjustment – allowing fine tuning for weight, terrain and speed. Part 981-25-002-3 uses FOX internal bypass technology to provide controlled damping throughout the shock stroke, helping maintain suspension control over high-speed desert terrain, technical climbs, and uneven off-road surfaces.

The internal bypass system works with a race-developed piston and FOX ride zone to deliver tunable performance based on vehicle weight, terrain, and speed. The remote reservoir supports consistent damping performance during extended use, while the DSC adjuster allows separate tuning of low- and high-speed compression characteristics. The shock is owner serviceable and rebuildable, with custom valving options available for specialized applications.

Built for durability, this FOX shock features a 2.5-inch aluminum body, a 7/8-inch 17-4 H900 hard chrome-plated stainless steel shaft, and black anodized CNC-machined aluminum components. A proprietary Cerakote protective ceramic coating over a zinc-plated basecoat helps resist wear and corrosion. JM92 MIL-SPEC oil, redundant shaft seals, and the remote reservoir design support dependable operation in harsh off-road environments. This automotive suspension component is not CARB approved and carries a California Proposition 65 warning.
