The FOX Performance Series FOX987-24-054 rear shock is engineered for 2005–2016 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks equipped with 0–1.5 inches of lift. It uses application-specific valving to deliver a controlled, comfortable on-road ride while improving handling and stability during off-road driving. The Performance Series design helps extend rear suspension drop-out travel in many applications, supporting greater off-road capability without sacrificing everyday drivability.

Consistent damping is provided by high-flow velocity-sensitive valving, a race-developed main piston, and an internal floating piston (IFP) that separates gas from oil. A hydraulic top-out (HTO) piston helps manage suspension extension for predictable performance over uneven terrain. The shock body is constructed from impact-extruded 6061-T6 aluminum with a Type II clear-anodized finish, allowing it to dissipate heat efficiently while resisting corrosion and harsh environmental conditions. The 5/8-inch hard-chrome shaft adds durability for demanding truck and trail use.

FOX builds the FOX987-24-054 to be fully serviceable, rebuildable, and re-tunable, allowing long-term maintenance and performance adjustment.
